App development costs have a very wide range depending on the complexity of features, front end and back end requirements, and which platforms you would like to distribute to. While most of our apps fall within the $30,000-50,000 range, we also specialize in developing smaller projects that cost closer to $5,000.
We also encourage all of our clients to develop an MVP (minimum viable product) prototype before spending too much on full production. If you are an entrepreneur or are just starting your own business, you want to make sure that the features you’ve decided to develop are what your intended customer segments really wants, and is willing to pay for. An MVP is an effective way to start out because you can get the app of your dreams in the hands of real people to collect invaluable feedback, or showcase your product to investors. Even better, in most cases the majority of what you spend on the MVP will go directly towards the full app development cost. MVPs can vary significantly depending ion your project, but most fall within the $3,000-15,000 range.
Other costs associated with app development include:
Apple and Google Developer Account fees: $130/year
Annual Recurring Maintenance Payments: Included in Consulting Agreement, usually no more than $500-1,000/year. These payments offer coverage for continual bug fixes and maintenance, and is applied in the likely event that Apple or Google require your app to be updated when they push software updates.
Monthly Recurring Payments (when applicable): Usually $200-500/month but the cost varies significantly and is subject to change over time depending on user activity. If your technology requires a server for hosting content or performing tasks, Winnona Partners fully manages this for you. Making sure your app is functioning properly and scaling appropriately is essential to providing your users with a good user experience. The recurring payment cost is included in your Consulting Agreement.
